Talent attraction in eCommerce recruitment 

It seems that before focusing on any other aspect of the recruitment process, eCommerce leaders want to do more to improve their employer brand. This makes total sense. Without a real identity or brand voice, they will never be able to streamline the recruitment process.

After this, eCommerce leaders are picking up on the trend of remote workers and intend to widen their talent pools by opening up the application process further afield.

As revealed in our focus on candidate expectations of the recruitment process, there were some differences between employees and employers. With a goal to shorten the process, while utilising online interviews, it seems eCommerce leaders are recognising the importance of a more organised recruitment timeline.

Retaining your eCommerce employees

It is clear that many eCommerce leaders are in agreement on quite a few employee retention techniques.

They are recognising that career progression is important to their teams, so creating these opportunities is a huge priority.

Well-being and work-life balance have also become important, especially with remote working continuing to dominate the industry. However, even with flexibility, management must ensure staff are happy in their roles.

It is great to see salary assessments in the top five. In our summer 2023 questionnaire update, 55% of respondents received a salary increase. So, it shows that many eCommerce leaders are keeping their word and understanding that salary is of huge importance in staff retention.
