Get ahead of the curve: how to secure your 2016 opportunities now!

We are a mere 21 retail days away from Christmas (!) and unbeknownst to (seemingly) a LOTof my candidates, the race to placing roles and securing new jobs pre-Christmas is in full swing. There are many who believe that December is the quietest time in our recruitment calendar but I am pleased to report we’re busier than ever. The creative desk in particular – we have clients who are exceptionally keen to place their vacancies before we head into the New Year and momentum is in full swing to find those hires before we embark upon Ecommerce 2016!

Here are some good things for you to consider if you’re sat reading this at your desk, twiddling your thumbs (doubtful!) and pondering your next step...

  • Why not get ahead of the curve? Our phones will no doubt be ringing off the hook in January – but as our clients are not in hibernation before then, why not get yourself out there before the vast majority of your competitors!? At Cranberry Towers we’re pretty certain this is a smarter tactic (so long as the job matches your skillset and requirements – don’t fire your cv across to every ecommerce vacancy on our site!) 
  • Whilst you might think of December as an odd time to seek out pastures new, think again. What better time to integrate into a business than the “most wonderful time of the year”.Company socials are in full swing so you can actually get to know your new team before you start and there’s more impetus to train and impart processes so, as a new recruit, you can hit the ground running come January. (**Please note – approach with caution. Nothing worse than swinging from the chandeliers and doing the walk of shame before you’ve even officially started in your new job! Steer clear of the mistletoe too!)
  • Conversely - are you ready and willing to interview before the 24th December? If you’re headed home for Christmas early or think that it would be easier to interview post-Christmas that’s fine – you just need to let us know. That way we can focus our energy and ensure we’re best representing you to our wonderful clients. A lot can change between now and January so it’s worth noting. 
  • If you can’t see anything on our live jobs that tickles your fancy that’s ok – now is the best time to talk to the Pandas so we can find out what you’re looking for and facilitate the best introductions come January. Don’t shy away just because your dream job hasn’t surfaced yet. We work very closely with our clients to ensure they get the best ecommerce people in the business into their teams. So we might be able to take a more targeted approach this side of the New Year if we know where you’d like to go! Ready, aim, FIRE!! 
  • Last note for my creative pandas – get those portfolios revamped and ready for 2016. It’s going to be bigger and better than ever and time waits for no man (or out of date portfolio!) 

The Christmas plans are in full swing at Cranberry Towers -  secret santa/panda names have been drawn, and we are counting down the days to our Christmas party. But we’re here and ready to talk so give us a shout. After all - why wouldn’t you want to be talking to the recently crowned “Best Niche Recruitment Agency”? I can’t think of a reason – can you?
