Jessica's top 10 jobs

As it's the summer holidays, our chief Jonathan brought his niece, Jessica, into cranberry towers for the day to give us a helping hand. Jessica composed a list of dream jobs in the eyes of a 15 year old. Check them out...

Out of all the possible jobs in the world I would definitely say that there are a few which I would prioritise over the rest, for a selection of reasons. Maybe they’re more exciting, have the chance of talking your breath away daily, or it could just be a heartfelt passion. Sometimes there might not even be a reason, just taking a new direction.

1. An Astronaut. This sounds like an incredible job. I’ve always loved the idea of exploring out of this world - journeying to unknown places and bringing myself out of my comfort zone. The risk element of this job definitely intrigues me- not knowing if you’re going to return after a long mission- risky but worthwhile. Imagine the things you’d see and the sights you’d remember. Having the ability and knowledge to travel through space does sounds amazing. Being able to do things which nobody else can- I’d definitely want to do this?

2. A Stage Performer. Being on stage; singing, dancing and acting, being able to do what you love every day and then getting to show people your talent constantly. Having the opportunity to perform for people- make them laugh, cry and smile and take them out of their lives for a moment to watch you.  Making a career out of showing off sounds brilliant doesn’t it?

3. An Artist. For me, the idea of being able to make a career out of my passion would be perfect. Being able to create absolutely anything you want and to be able to make money out of it-perfect! Also in this line of work you have the opportunity to inspire young artists- or to create pieces of work which could make a change.

4. A Princess. This would definitely be an amazing job- having your make-up and hair done for you, wearing the most incredible clothes and living in a breath-taking palace, sounds idyllic right? Going to extravagant parties and meeting equally privileged people.

5. Charity worker. I absolutely love the idea of helping people and being able to make a change to their lives. To help people a lot less privileged than yourself you would need to be a hard worker, be able to live in hard conditions and be able to alter your body to fit different climates.

6. An Actor/Actress. The thought of being able to change who you are- decide to live somebody else’s life even for a few hours sounds incredible.  Travelling to places far and or even to cardboard sets, meeting new people and being able to show off your talent.

7. Snake Milker. This job is definitely not your typical office job- you would spend a day milking the snake’s fangs- which would in turn produce venom meaning people suffering with snake bites would find a cure.

8. Island Caretaker. Living on an island for sixth months earning £70,000 for living the life, spending time kayaking, sunbathing and swimming- sounds amazing right? In order to get this job you will be competing against 35,000 other competitors. To go with this job there are certain aspects of danger- living in an unusual lifestyle and adapting to the climate including poisonous animals.

9. Marine Biologist. Somebody who in some way manages a marine wildlife centre or are concerned with the safety of marine organisms. Marine biologists get to travel the world-mostly underwater- they get to see and experience things rarely seen. Although this job does sound good- you have more chance becoming a professional basketball player than you do becoming a marine biologist.

10. Working at cranberry panda. Fancy having the freedom to write articles of your choice? Spending the afternoon in fabulous company and having a constant supply of refreshments? Travelling to Portugal on business trips? All of this is included within the my day of work at cranberry panda. (My Uncle told me to write this- although it is based on truth!)

If your dream job is not listed above, you may find it here (shameless plug).
