Most promising start-ups: 100 and more reasons to be impressed

What start-ups are grabbing your attention?

Every year, the list of the 100 most promising start-ups brightening up the UK is released to celebrate the most exciting, awe-inspiring and fast-growing new businesses launched in the market.

We are happy and honoured to already be working with multiple start-ups in the top ten, namely #9, Craft Gin Club and #2, Simba. But, the list is full of new business names that make us think “oh, I wish I had thought of that!”. Here are the ecommerce start-ups we’re totally smitten with.

#95 Pasta Evangelist

Alessandro Savelli, the Anglo-Italian entrepreneur behind the brand, is on a mission to deliver fresh, artisanal pasta to London households. Giving the option to order once or to subscribe to the service, Pasta Evangelist has already collected more than 3,000 customers who are enjoying making traditional and delicious pasta dishes.

#87 Perlego

This start-up is here to solve every students nightmare - namely spending hundreds and hundreds of pounds on hefty, out-dated academic books. Enter Perlego, who comes in to deliver a subscription service for unlimited access to over 220,000 e-textbooks for £12 a month. Pretty nifty, huh?

#58 The Cheeky Panda

Well, we’re always going to support fellow Pandas! Especially if they’re doing something amazing like the guys at Cheeky Panda. This online shop is all about selling bamboo tissue products that are sustainable, low carbon and healthy. We love us a bit of eco-friendly shopping!

#17 Love The Sales This start-up is every online shopper’s dream. Instead of having an infinite number of tabs open on your browser to try and compare deals, Love The Sales does all of it for you. By putting together discounts offered by many different retailers all in one place, you now only need one place to look. (Back in 2016, Stuart from the Love The Sales team took part in a Panda Q&A!)

#1 Bulb

Ranking at the very top of this list there’s Bulb, the energy provider start-up that leaves inefficiency, poor service and expensive tariffs behind. Bulb offers totally renewable electricity and 10% green gas at one of the most competitive prices in the market. So - saving money and doing good for the environment - do you still wonder why this start-up ranks number 1?
