Tales of a Nooby: My first week with cranberry panda

Dec 11, 2017 9:23:25 AM

From the first interview with cranberry panda, I knew this company was different. I met with Jonathan and Yasmin initially, who quickly drew me a picture of their talented team, company values and their “Outside the Box” approach to innovative thinking.

During the final interview, I was able to meet the rest of the team and find out about their roles, interests and their lives in general! This was a first for me and left a lasting impression as it further highlighted the importance of a positive company mindset and most importantly - they all love it here!

They’re a pretty dePANDAble bunch

Some companies can make you feel like a “cog in the machine” – just grinding away without purpose. However, from the first day with cranberry panda, my future roadmap/ areas for growth were clearly laid out. This meant I had a defined idea of what I am aiming both short/long term.

Yes, we’re all here to do a job but I can tell that this lot really look after each other. To paraphrase Roy Orbison: If you need Industry advice on PPC – you got it. If you need an explanation of SEO vs. SEM – you got it. If you need a back massage – you got it!

Bit about me you say?

After studying for my degree in Commercial Music Production, I became involved in music production and recording for various studios in the UK – working with the likes of Brian Eno, Coldplay and U2.

Having explored the eclectic music scenes of northern England for some years, I decided to hang up my headphones for a more provincial life in the south. Now thoroughly involved within the cranberry panda team, I look forward to getting stuck in and working with all of you Ecommerce experts.

Future for us panda cubs?

Our planet is a big place, how will we stand out? As it’s still early doors for me, I’m still to decide which Ecommerce specialism to focus on, be it: Digital Design, Product Management, Analytics, Digital Marketing, Trade/Merchandising… so many choices!

We’re seeing so many areas of growth, how can I choose? Perhaps some of you Ecommerce industry experts have a better idea. All advice is welcome! Feel free to drop me a line here: ben.lerch@cranberrypanda.co.uk
