Are you a digital marketer working in the ecommerce industry? How are you feeling about your career in 2019? In our newest #PandaPounds series, we will be looking at employee insights across our ecommerce specialisms. To kick us off, we will be looking at…you guessed it, Digital Marketing!
We have already discovered in the 2019 digital marketing salary review that 65% of our digital marketing respondents received a pay rise this year! So, things are already looking bright – but what about thoughts on work-life balance, overtime and the gender pay gap? Let’s find out, shall we?
According to our ecommerce salary survey & insights report, 62% of our respondents are happy with their work-life balance. We wanted to know what working in digital marketing feel about it, so we asked, ‘are you happy with your work-life balance?’
So, there has been a decrease of digital marketers in ecommerce who are happy with the balance between work and play. Could overtime and bigger workloads be the reason for this? Here is how much overtime digital marketing employees are completing…
While there haven’t been huge changes, there has been a slight uplift in digital marketing professionals completing more than two hours of overtime each week.
Last year, the gender focus in ecommerce was a topic we really looked into, so it would be good to see what has changed in 2019.
In our previous salary survey report, we learned that there were more female digital marketing respondents than male – 56% to be exact. This year, we have seen a shift between males and females in digital marketing. 46% of our digital marketing respondents are female, while 54% are male.
However, 74% of our female respondents are in senior level roles (manager to director/owner) compared to 53% in 2018. It’s great to see more women within ecommerce digital marketing move into senior roles. Meanwhile, 77% of male digital marketing respondents are in senior level roles, a 13% increase from 2018.
That’s all for our digital marketing employee focus! If you’re curious to learn more about the industry, we will be releasing more throughout the week for our ecommerce specialisms.
