Why you should work in Ecommerce recruitment?

Oct 25, 2018 1:31:25 PM

Most of the time recruitment is considered a stop gap between changing careers or leaving University and needing money. Whether it be the reputation recruitment has incurred over time or the fact that it is perceived as an industry for money hungry people – it is not uncommon for people to leave after a short amount of time. Now, is that down to the role itself or the company they are working for?

Recruitment is fundamental in any industry, and when people say it is the match making of the employment world, they are not joking. With the million other things managers and directors must do, having the help and advice from a recruitment consultant is one less weight to carry.

It can at times be a harsh environment, recruitment. There are rejections, and it takes a lot of work to achieve the right placement. But, what people seem to forget is the sense of achievement when you do. The best things never come easy and instead of selling an accessory or property you are changing someone’s life. A new job in someone’s career could be a lifelong dream for them, it could mean the salary to buy a new home or support their family. Even take that trip they have always wanted to go on.

It is very much a sales role, but you are having incredible conversations with real human beings and helping change their life for the better. “The harder you work for something, the greater you’ll feel when you achieve it.”

At cranberry panda we have recently had training with a coach Craig Goldblatt and Jen Wright (stay tuned for a very insightful interview with them soon). They told us about the vital elements humans need to survive and to thrive. One of those being challenge - we need to feel like we are being pushed in life and using all our abilities to the best we can. One thing we can vouch for is that recruitment will test you, it will make you adapt and improve in yourself professionally and personally.

I may be bias, working within a recruitment company and having done recruitment myself for a brief amount of time but if you work for the right company, recruitment can be a career that will give you progression, job ownership and a sense of fulfilment.

Why work in recruitment for cranberry panda?

Every single company will say they are different, and every company will have their reasons for thinking they are the best at what they do. But, one obvious factor in any business not just recruitment is the turn over. The reason for such a high turnover of staff in a huge percentage of recruitment companies is the company itself. Professionals can struggle with the cut throat environment and if you just feel like a number on the payroll and not valued in the team – you will most likely leave.

If we can give one piece of advice when looking for a recruitment company to work for, or even considering meeting with a few people in the industry it is to ask this; what is your staff retention?

Here at cranberry panda, it is not somewhere to join if you need a quick fix in a job. The pandas here work here for a reason and that is because they enjoy it! They love coming to work every day and this is a family, not just a bunch of colleagues. I could ramble on for ages, but here are a few reasons to consider us:

  • Job ownership - you are not micro managed in cranberry panda and are given the opportunity to prove what you are capable of
  • Support - I have never experienced a company that offers so much support and guidance to those who need it
  • Progression - again, I promise I am not lying, this company will help you work and progress in your career to exactly where you want to be. It is not based on just your sales but every aspect of your work.
  • Culture - this is a company with no judgements. You can say what you are thinking and can be yourself. There are not many companies where you experience that.
  • Specialist - we focus purely on the Ecommerce world, some recruitment companies would have you working on roles in a number of industries and you cannot take the time to enjoy what you recruit for.
If you do not believe any of the above and feel you have read it one hundred times before, then call my bluff and come check us out for yourself. We will be happy to talk you through who we are and what we do.
