Normally when I start a new job, the first day is fairly daunting, nerve-wracking and highly exhausting from a major information overload.
When it was time for my first day at Cranberry Panda I was more than ready to get stuck in; ready to begin learning about my role as Junior Ecommerce Consultant and ready to start learning about the world of recruitment… panda style!
My journey began in the Ecommerce world. I started as a Digital Content Executive for a company specialising in technology, I assisted in the management and creation of web content, product listings and marketing material on the website, along with many supplier meetings. Moving on quickly as the ecommerce world often does, I moved back into the industry I love- retail. I worked with prestigious master franchise retailer, with an exciting international branding of baby and childrenswear with a twist. As an Online Content Administrator, my job was to manage the UK and Ireland site to oversee and help grow its online customer sales working closely with the Merchandising and Marketing teams.
So, how did I end up here? My decision to relocate to London, not surprisingly was one of the biggest I have had to make, nevertheless, so far it has turned out to be one of the most rewarding. A new job, new home and closer to my friends along with new ones. I began as a candidate for Cranberry Panda, however upon learning of an internal vacancy, I decided that this would be a more suitable path for me and luckily so did the folks here at Cranberry Panda. I must confess, I am a novice to the world of recruitment. This being said I suppose my eagerness to learn and my passion for working with people should help me build my foundation and allow me to progress.
To sum up my first day at Cranberry Towers, instead of arriving and feeling increasingly like the new office guppy about to swim with hungry sharks; it was more like a new panda cub joining a team of other pandas, set to learn their panda ways. I am really excited to see how the next step of my life takes form and am truly thrilled to be part of the team here at Cranberry Panda, surrounded by a group very welcoming, encouraging and like-minded people.
