However, we don’t want you to go through April without any insights from the ecommerce world – so, we’ve decided to share 5 teasers from the new report!
Company culture…not as big a priority as it should be
For the first time ever, we asked our respondents if they felt company culture was prioritised in the ecommerce industry. The world of ecommerce is a busy place to be, so companies should be ensuring that the environment is one people will want to work in…and stay in!
While we won’t reveal the full statistics, it is clear that our respondents don’t feel company culture is a priority. But how many feel that? We will find out on May 2nd!
Work-life balance is more important than ever before
Salary, company benefits and progression…just a few things that have always been important to ecommerce professionals throughout the years. However, this year there has been a clear increase in people who want to improve their work-life balance.
So many elements in a career contribute towards achieving the perfect work-life balance, and our respondents have not shied away from sharing their views!
Average salaries are on the rise…mostly
Ecommerce salaries are on the rise, so it’s great to see hardworking professionals get what they are owed! After a slight dip in 2018, the average salary in the industry and risen again (the full amount will be revealed in the final report!)
We also looked at average ecommerce salary by age bracket (25 and under, 26 – 35, 36 – 45 and 46 – 65) and we’re pleased to report that three of the groups saw an increase in average salary. However, one of the groups have seen a slight decrease, which will be revealed very soon.
Exclusive insights from ecommerce contractors
As we started our ecommerce contract recruitment division last year, we wanted to share some insights from this market. For the first time in our salary survey, there were questions exclusive to those contracting in the industry.
Some of the insights you can expect revolve around day rates, contract hiring processes and contract length.
The gender debate – has anything changed?
Last year, the hot topic in our salary survey report was the gender pay gap. We could see there were less women in more senior roles and in higher salary brackets. We are pleased to say that there has been positive uplift this year – for example, there are more female respondents in ‘head of’ roles than ever before! The rest of these insights will be revealed on May 2nd (you’re probably sick of us saying that, right?)
Keep your eyes peeled on May 2nd
When the 2019 ecommerce salary survey & insights report launches, we will be shouting it from the rooftops. The report will be available to download for free and there will be plenty of content throughout the rest of the year that we couldn’t fit into the report.
