Panda adventure: Megève ski trip

Mar 8, 2016 1:18:35 PM

What a weekend! The pandas are back to business as usual following a fantastic three days on the slopes of Megève. There were some great runs, a few tumbles but all in all it was a great experience. We set out early for Heathrow on Thursday 3rd March to begin the adventure...here's what happened.

Look at them go!

Our very own Kate is no stranger to the slopes, and can teach you a thing or two about snowboarding! What was her highlight? “My highlight would be ripping up the black runs and off piste- riding freshies knee deep in snow with Jonathan, Joe and Neil. We ended up 1.2 miles down the mountain by the time we realised where we were!”

Neil is also a keen boarder and the Megève experience has left him with a new outlook on life. “I face planted the snow seven times in one morning and loved every moment of it. My new calling in life now is to be a Chalet girl.” It’s never too late to follow your dreams Neil!

Bread, wine, cheese and repeat

“My diet consisted of melted cheese, baguette, red wine and snow.” Pretty accurate summary from Neil here!

When it came to food, the pandas had a lot more than bamboo on offer. In fact, we were truly spoilt for choice! Staying in the cosy Chalet Les Clochettes, courtesy of Stanford Skiing, we were fully catered for with hearty breakfasts and three course dinners. The chalet itself was fantastic and well worth a look!

On Friday evening, we ventured out to a great little spot ‘Le Refuge Du Calvaire.’ The walk took us high above the central village so it was a nice hidden treasure. If you love cheese or tasty steaks, then this place is worth a visit if you ever find yourself in Megève.

Let it snow!

Luckily for the pandas, the weather was great! Some good snow fall gave life to the wonderful slopes while the sun reared its head on occasion for those who wanted to stroll through the village or grab a pedestrian pass up the mountain.

It was definitely a panda adventure and one we’re taking some great memories away from. For those of you who might be wondering, we didn’t get around to building a snow panda…SOB! Could that leave a return to the slopes very much open in the future?
