Panda Q&A - Ecommerce Director Yasmin Vachet

Dec 10, 2018 10:31:55 AM

We figured it was time to check in with our panda's and find out more about them! Yasmin is one of our original panda's - what has been going on with her? (Apart from being an amazing director and singing superstar!)

If you could give any advice at all to someone else regarding career progression, what would it be?

Progression comes in many forms – ensure you’re always focused on personal development as your primary concern. The money, titles and recognition are obviously important but always seek out opportunities (internally or externally) that are going to push you and challenge you. As someone much wiser than me once said, “the greatest enemy of progress is not stagnation, but false progress”

Where do you see yourself in 3 years' time? What are your goals and what are you aiming for?

In 3 years’ time Jonathan and I will have grown our embarrassment further still, and brought more exceptional and ambitious recruiters in to the business. I will be working with more of my dream ecommerce clients (and hopefully being offered lots of friends and family discounts as a result (wink, wink) and my husband and I will have sold our first renovation project (nearly there) and be onto bigger more exciting house flipping ventures.

Where would we find you in your spare time? What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Chilling with my nearest and dearest, playing my piano and singing at the top of my lungs, cleaning (it’s a problem) or dreaming up my next travel adventure.

If you can pinpoint one high in your career and one low what it be?

  • High – 5 amazing years (to date) with non-stop challenge, fun and panda adventures.
  • Low – when you have to regret people, who have worked so hard on a process. That never gets any easier.

What's the best piece of advice you've been given this year?

We did a lot of training this year with some amazing coaches and mentors – and learnt invaluable things about mindset and personal growth. I think the best piece of advice I’ve been given (and will heed from here on out) is to focus on the controllables and not to waste time worrying about things outside my circle of control or influence. It’s a much more powerful place to exist and liberates you from wasting time on frustrating situations you can literally do nothing about. Worry about the impact you can actually make instead…

Yasmin Vachet is our Director of Ecommerce, not only does she bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the recruitment industry, but she manages an incredible team! Yasmin is working on some intriguing roles so get in touch with her to find out more.
