The big Easter hunt: What campaigns caught our eye?

Whenever the next big calendar event arrives, we pandas are always on the lookout for how brands celebrate the event. It’s particularly fun when it’s a chocolate bonanza which means only one thing…the Easter battle is on!

We thought we’d take a look at the most innovative, fun and chocolatey marketing campaigns of the past few days.

If Carlsberg did chocolate bars

If you like chocolate, then you are probably spoilt for choice at this time of year. If you like beer just as much, then Carlsberg is your new best friend. On 23rd March, Carlsberg launched the latest of its ‘If Carlsberg did…’ campaigns. The Easter weekend is approaching, so what better way to mark it than to construct a pop up bar made of almost half a tonne of chocolate!?

The pop up was located at the Truman Brewery in Shoreditch, only a stone’s throw away from the pandas! (Sadly we didn’t get a chance to enjoy a Carlsberg in a chocolate glass…sob!)  The ongoing ‘If Carlsberg Did’ campaign is continuing to immerse the brand both online and offline. The grand gestures get people talking online and definitely create a buzz.

Cadbury’s bring the Loch Ness monster to life

If you happen to be passing Scotland’s famous Loch Ness over the Easter weekend, lookout for the ominous Loch Ness monster. OK, so it’s actually three giant eggs placed by Cadbury’s but what an idea!

Using the #EggsEverywhere hashtag, Cadbury’s will make sure people can get involved and keep their eyes open for more of the giant purple eggs. With 300 charity Easter hunts organised and donations already made to various local services, Cadbury’s really is making Easter a spirited community event.

There is plenty of Easter goodness to be seen but we couldn’t cover it all. However, a personal shout out to Asda and its giant hen advertisement…I think everyone would love to see a 50 foot chocolate hen walking the streets!
