No use pinching yourself… 2016 really is just around the corner! Where has 2015 gone? December is a funny month; your home life AND work life are no doubt hectic. Thinking about what presents you still need to buy while wondering if that final to do list at work is anywhere near complete.
It can be stressful, there’s no questioning that. Take a breather and step back from the rush. What can you do to make the run up to 2016 as calm as possible?
What you have to do
- Do not stare at to do lists in dismay, wondering where you will find the time. Take that list and tackle it like a panda warrior! Make a note of HOW you will achieve everything left on the list which will really increase your determination once you have a solid plan. After this, manage your time and tasks effectively with our guest panda Ghilaine’s top tips!
- Make sure you and your team all feel ready to go into 2016 full of enthusiasm for the year ahead. You all need to be on the exact same page. Whether you are the manager or a dedicated member of the team, make sure everyone communicates what needs to be covered BEFORE the holiday break and what might be prioritised for the 2016 return.
- Set a personal 2016 goals list...think of it as a letter to Santa! This will really help set you up for the New Year ahead of schedule. Not only will you be full of motivation, you will be able to start right then and there to get the 2015 tasks done and dusted.
- Prepare for any changes or new challenges coming with steely determination. Don’t fear change, embrace it and adapt it to the list we mentioned above!
Enjoy yourself!
That’s right, however many days you have to relax…make sure you use them. You deserve a good break for all your hard work, and revitalisation for the year ahead. Here are some tips…
- Embrace the Christmas parties – You might think this will stand in the way of everything you have left to do, but it won’t. It’s a chance for your team to celebrate together, and go forward with great comradery. There are also great networking opportunities to be had at many Christmas gatherings within your industry.
- Let someone else do the work – We pandas LOVE ecommerce so perhaps I’m being a little biased here. Don’t dread the Christmas shopping rush. Go online with your list in hand and fill that basket. All you have to do is wait for the delivery as you save some time.
- Do what you enjoy – Use this time to catch up on what you love (apart from your job!)
