Here at cranberry panda, we love to do things that make a difference. We introduced ‘Panda Giving’ back in 2016 to highlight these efforts, be it as a team or an individual venture. We’re very excited to share that our next ‘Panda Giving’ outing will be very much a full team effort!
What are we doing?
We will be doing a 10km evening walk on December 3rd, in support of the wonderful Shelter charity. Already, we can feel the temperatures outside dropping and it’s this time of year that really highlights the plight of the homeless, those at risk of losing their homes and those in unsuitable housing.
The event is officially called ‘Sleep Walk’, and it’s designed to bring people together to take steps against homelessness. Starting in Waterloo, we will embark on a 10km loop through Central London. We’ll get to pass all the sights such as Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Covent Garden Christmas markets! We’re certainly looking forward to it, especially as we get to raise money for such a good cause!
What do Shelter do?
Shelter have been around since 1966, and they believe every person deserves a home. They offer housing advice, support and legal services to those in bad housing, those faced with homelessness and those who are already homeless.
Offering face to face advice, a national helpline and legal support, they work tirelessly so that one day, no one will have to turn to them for advice. To give you visibility on what they do with donations, for every £1 you give, 79% is spent on helping people directly while the rest is spent on fundraising activities. We believe in this cause, and believe they deserve the support. Please do visit their website to learn more and learn how you can support.
What can you do?
Each panda has their own fundraising page, which will tally up all donations into our team page. Our target is £800, though we’re confident we can smash this! If you wanted to hear more about the team and our efforts, or donate to the cause, you can click below to visit our Just Giving page! Any donation, great or small, would make a huge difference.
