#PandaPounds: What salary changes occurred for design & development roles?

That’s right; we are bringing you another wonderful #PandaPounds update. Our 2015 ecommerce salary survey & insights report really has given us a great look at the ecommerce landscape.

Today, we will look at design and development salaries in the ecommerce sector, and investigate how salaries for specific job roles have changed since 2014. 

What do design & development roles entail?

Our respondents held a range of positions within a design & development function, so we broke them down to give a clearer view of what they do:

  • Junior-Senior Web Designer
  • Web Developer
  • Ecommerce Development Manager
  • Head of Web Development
  • Ecommerce photographer
  • Studio Manager
  • Ecommerce Stylist

How have design & development salaries changed?

No need to wait for an answer to that question any longer! Below, we have some interesting breakdowns of the changes between 2014 and 2015.

Who is earning more?

On average, we can see some increase in the following roles:

  • Junior Web Designer: £22,000-£32,000. A nice £2,000 increase
  • Senior Web Designer: £35,000-£60,000. A pandabulous £5,000 rise, not bad eh?
  • Web Developer:  £25,000- £65,000. Another £5,000 increase!
  • Head of Web Development: £45,000-£100,000. £10,000 increase for this role.
  • Ecommerce Photographer: £25,000-£45,000. A £5,000 increase

Which roles have seen no change?

  • Ecommerce Development Manager: £45,000-£75,000
  • Ecommerce Stylist: £20,000-£30,000.

Our respondents reported no significant decreases for their job roles, which means it’s a great time to be creative!
